Anna's heel doctrine. The heel is a structural decision before it is a style decision. Shoes sit outside the 40-garment count.
Doctrine
- The heel supports from the very back edge of the foot.
- It is never set inward, under the arch.
- Kitten heels fail.
- A straight heel is good.
- A slightly convex heel that bows backward and lands at the back is best.
- A concave heel that curves in under the arch fails.
- Preferred height: 6 inches.
- Wedges are allowed only with great arch support and strong architecture.
- Shoes sit outside the 40-garment count.
